...a rockstar is conceived...

chris and i are so *thrilled* to be welcoming our first baby into the world around may 20th this coming year. yup - i'm due on my 30th birthday. we've named the baby "rockstar" for now, until we find out the sex on the 6th of january. here's what things have looked like so far:

* september 14th - took 2 pregnancy tests and both came back positive!

* october 1st - our first doctor's appointment - we got to see the heartbeat fluttering away - SO amazing! rockstar measured at 7 weeks at that appointment -- already advanced based on the dates we gave the doctor.

* october 29th - our second doctor's appointment & first full ultrasound. as babycenter.com describes it, we got to see rockstar demonstrating some mad water ballet skills -- the baby had tons of space at that time, so we got to see legs and feet just floating around. this remains one of my favorite moments of my pregnancy so far:

* november 26th - our third doctors appointment - we got to hear rockstar's heart beating away!

* december 3rd - while on our "babymoon" in cancun, we took my first belly shot at 16 weeks:

* december 22nd - we felt rockstar move for the first time. i had been feeling little flutters for a little while prior to this, but wasn't ever sure if it was the baby or not. monday night i KNEW it was rockstar and so i called chris over to feel my tummy. he put his hand on my belly and the side of his face on his hand and we felt the baby move! it was so cool! i'll never forget the expression on his face when i said "did you feel that?" and his head shot up and he had this super excited, happy grin on his face. favorite pregnancy moment #2. :)

so now you're all up-to-date on what's been going on so far. we'll keep you posted!

peace & love,
kel

  1. Dear Chris, Kelly and Rockstar: I just have to tell you how much I am enjoying your blog and "spying" on your friends whose blogs you listed as those you follow, especially your friend in Haiti. Wow. I wish I could make such a difference in the world before I leave it!

Also looked at the popular baby names and wonder which ones you are considering! I am glad you are doing so well, Kelly, and feeling well. I will be sure to "tune in" later this week and learn the gender of your little one. That is what I have always called Hannah and David--my "little ones" (even though they are 10 and 8 now, they are still my "little ones" and always will be.) What joys you all have ahead of you!

I love reading your blog. I find I feel I know you both so much better--seems strange since I have known Chris forever, but kids have their own lives and aunts and uncles don't always know them as well as they would like to. I guess I need to update my computer skills and begin a blog. I don't have the faintest idea how to do it but I love to write and it seems like it is fun. I just joined Facebook and don't have the slightest idea what I just joined.
    Love, Aunt Sally
